SEC Concludes Crypto Rulemaking Series with Final DeFi Roundtable
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission will cap its ’Spring Sprint Toward crypto Clarity’ initiative with a June 9 roundtable examining decentralized finance’s alignment with American legal frameworks. The ’DeFi and the American Spirit’ session convenes regulators, industry advocates, and crypto task force leaders at SEC headquarters for hybrid discussions on balancing innovation with investor protections.
Commissioner Hester Peirce, a vocal proponent of measured DeFi regulation, joins Chair Paul Atkins and other officials in exploring how decentralized systems can operate within traditional securities laws. The event follows four prior roundtables addressing digital asset classification under federal securities regulations.
